Production Log

After deciding on the magazine name, I then had to consider the design and colour of it. I looked at the website 'dafont' in which you can actually download any font that is on the website and use it. I chose the font called 'bebas nueue' which is very big and bold and stands out. This would work effectively for my magazine and highlight the title. I then decided to continue using this font throughout the whole magazine. I believe that this font would also be easily recognisable so despite the fact the images would change per issue, the name would stay the same so readers can easily see it rather than searching through it.

As I wasn't entirely sure of my colour scheme whilst creating my magazine name, I left it in black as this would be one colour i'd use throughout. When putting the font in black on my magazine, I found it actually looked quite good so I left it as it is. However, dependant on the picture, this could change issue to issue as you can see in other magazines.

Production Log

I have recently been working on my name ideas for my magazine. The name of the magazine is one of the most important elements of the magazine and it needs to be something that will stick in a readers head. If a reader is unable to remember the name of the magazine then it is too complicated. In order to do this, I created a mind map. From this, I added stems which described the genre, style, artists, what it would include etc. As I want my magazine to cover artists and elements which are very unique and indivdual, I branched this off and began thinking of synonyms for Unique. From this, I got the word Idiosyncratic but thought this could be quite long-winded for a magazine so I shortened it to Idiosync.

I asked around for feedback on this name and most people agreed and said it was an effective name as it's not just a random word but in fact has meaning to it. I think this will be a good magazine name as it's short and snappy and would be easy to remember as its not a word that's solely linked to music and tends not to be used in every day life such as Kerrang.

Production Log

The past few lessons I have been working my way through the list of tasks we have to complete and trying to get through them all as quickly as possible. 
As spent part a of a double going through the Key Concepts of magazines and how we would incorporate these into our own magazines. I decided to present this in a power point and have separate slides for: Codes and conventions, Audience, Representation and Institution. 
I briefly described each one and how they are presented within magazines, I think linked it to my magazine and stated how I will use each one to make my magazine seem as realistic as possible. I will post this power point as and when it is complete.

Name Ideas

I began thinking of name ideas for my magazine, as you can see below I started off by doing a mind map with 'Music' in the middle and any words that I thought were associated with Music I stemmed off of the bubble. Some of which were gigs, festivals, artists and genres all with many others coming off of them. I decided to stick with 'Idiosync' which comes from the word 'Idiosyncratic' meaning that someone that is quite peculiar, unique and almost not 'normal'. I chose this because my magazine would appeal to those, like myself, that do not have one set genre of music they always listen to; therefore, my magazine will be unique and different: idiosyncratic.
After choosing the name, I had to find a suitable font and colour.  Although I have four colours set out already in my plan, this may change after I have done my photo shoot as I plan to match the house colours of the magazine to the colours my model wears. Similarly, the font I use may change as well as I look into Photoshop tutorials I could use to make the text look more effective as it is one of the most important elements of my magazine.
